About this dua

The Prophet ﷺ said that when a person enters his house and mentions Allah’s name on entering and when eating, Satan says to his companions: “You have no place to stay the night and no dinner.” If he enters without mentioning Allah, Satan says: “You have found a place to stay the night” (Sahih Muslim 2018).

So the simplest dua for entering the home is to say Bismillah, then greet your family with Assalamu alaikum. When going out, say the dua for leaving home.
