About this dua
Anas reported that whenever the Prophet ﷺ went to relieve himself, he said this dua (Sahih al-Bukhari 142). Say it before you go in, not inside.
When he came out, Aisha reported that he said (Jami at-Tirmidhi 7, graded sahih):
غُفْرَانَكَ
Ghufrānak: “I ask for Your forgiveness.”
