About this dua

Hudhaifah reported that when the Prophet ﷺ went to bed he said “Bismika amūtu wa aḥyā”, and when he got up he said this dua (Sahih al-Bukhari 6312).

Sleep is called a kind of death in the Quran, so every morning is a new life given by Allah. The first words of the day are thanks for it. The night-time partner of this dua is the dua before sleeping.
