The reward

The Prophet ﷺ said: “Sometimes there is a cloud over my heart, and I seek Allah’s forgiveness a hundred times a day” (Sahih Muslim 2702).

If the Prophet ﷺ, who was free of sin, did this every day, it is a habit for all of us. For the best wording of all, learn Sayyidul Istighfar, and read the meaning of Astaghfirullah.
